I’ve always loved putting pen to paper and letting lines flow out every which way in swirls and curls and loop de loops . To a certain extent it is erotic . I like sitting in a cafe and drawing the people around me - particularly conversations. The thing is that if my subjects look at me I quickly avert my eyes to seem as if I’m focusing behind them or slightly to the side. That way they don’t know I’m drawing them. Heaven forbid they should drop by my table to see what it is I’ve drawn! I let myself create whatever I see without worrying whether it looks “right” or not. Sometimes people end up as animals or grotesqueries!
I feel the same marvelous body/soul pleasure at spreading color on a page and then making it into what ever presents itself to me.
For me there is no right or wrong in art. One just flows along with the moment. It is pure self-expression and it’s how I go through transitions and stay in touch with myself.
