A Colorado native, I was musically formed by the jazz and big band recordings of my parents. The voice of Ella Fitzgerald became the voice of my mother as she sang to me in my crib. Later on, living in NYC and San Francisco, I was wildly influenced by the music of the ’60s and early ‘70s. It was everywhere and it was powerful.( I remember dancing even without music! ) Because I was living in Laurel Canyon with a fellow who played electric violin on a lot of albums, I got to hang in the studio with such musicians as Lightnin’ Hopkins, Mike Bloomfield and Electric Flag, Neil Young and Crazy Horse, Joni Mitchell, and Paul Horn. I was way too shy to sing so I carried sketch books around with me and expressed the music through art. Later I went on to write my own songs and perform in diverse venues from juke joints in Mississippi to night clubs in Paris. **WOW**
